He graduated from the Ankara University Faculty of Medicine in 2000 and completed his residency training in the Department of Histology and Embryology at the same institution.
He worked as the Laboratory Director and a faculty member at the Ankara University IVF Center. He also served as a research fellow in the United States in 2005 and 2009. Until 2023, he worked as a faculty member at the University of Dundee School of Medicine and as an embryologist at Ninewells Hospital.
Dr. Özkavukcu was awarded the title of Associate Professor in 2015. He currently serves as a Professor in the Department of Histology and Embryology at Ankara Medipol University Faculty of Medicine and as the Director of the Embryology Laboratory at Centrum Clinic.
He is certified as an ESHRE Senior Embryologist by the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE).
